Benevolence Ministry

“For the needy shall not always be forgotten; the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever.” Psalm 9:18

Care, concern and common sense are characteristics of the four member teams who interview clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Benevolence/ Missions office. They share the Good News of Jesus, help with financial needs, as well as, just lend a listening ear. To make a difference in someone’s life, please call Shari Maxey at 683-0656.

Dream Catchers

Do you want to be part of a team that can change the future of an at risk child? Be a mentor to a 4th grader at Lamar Elementary School. These 4th graders need your help improving their academic skills in reading, writing and math, but most importantly, they need someone that will care enough to show them God’s love. If this fits you, call Margaret Osborn at 684-5066.

Jail Ministry

Take the compassion of Christ to inmates in the local jail by helping lead Sunday services. You can also volunteer as a Bible study correspondence grader, sending out non-denominational Bible studies in English and Spanish to inmates primarily in Texas. There is also a need for volunteers to offer counseling and relocation help for returning ex-offenders. Men and women volunteers are needed. Please call 683-0600. International Student Ministry God is bringing the nations to us here in Midland! There are about 80 international students from around the world studying at Midland College. It is our dream to see an FBC team unite to reach these students with the Good News. We will build trusting friendships through prayer, spending purposeful time with them and understanding how we can encourage them to succeed. Help us make this happen. Call David Nobles at 683-0611 or Micah Hoke at 528-5848.

Retirement Center Ministry
